About 300,000 Cuddly Cousin Insect toys sold at dollar stores nationwide were recalled earlier today by order of the Consumer Product Safety Commission because small parts could break off posing a choking hazard. Details of the recall including pictures are available here. If your child has these toys, please take them away immediately and follow the instructions listed in the recall notice.

According to a story published today by the Associated Press, one in 15 hospitalized children is hurt by medication during their stay. While the majority of the injuries are accidental and unforeseeable (unexpected allergic reactions, etc.), many times these injuries could be prevented by vigilant parents.
